Big Girl is dark comedy web series that follows the misadventures of Katie, a plus size woman living and dating in New York City. As the creator of Big Girl, I wrote the show after growing frustrated with the representation of plus size women I've seen in t.v. and film my whole life. I didn't see myself. The "sad fat lady" trope is a tired one. I wanted to create a character who didn't hate herself, but who is striving to succeed, and I wanted her to win! We are full, beautiful, flawed human beings with interesting, funny, sexy, and smart stories to tell. Big Girl is one of those stories.
